Review from Yelp-(E. Y. – 12/4/2011)

A few weeks ago, I had my one and only treatment (thus far) with Dr. Lim. While my experience with Dr. Lim may be limited as opposed to one from somebody who has received multiple treatments over a longer period of time, I have found even just the one visit to be very helpful, especially since I was traveling at the time. (I live in Northern California and was visiting my cousin who lives in Los Angeles.)
In November 2009, I injured my right shoulder. I couldn’t move or lift my arm for more than a few inches in any direction without pain or strain. I decided on a chiropractic treatment, which was helpful. I was able to regain pain-free, full range motion within about a week.
November 2010, the pain in my shoulder returned. It wasn’t that I re-injured my shoulder – you might say it’s similar to when a person with an old injury says they feel pain when the weather becomes cooler or when it is raining. This time I tried deep-tissue, structural integration bodywork. This was also helpful and provided similar results to the chiropractic treatment.
November 2011 (a few weeks ago), I was visiting my cousin in Los Angeles. During the trip, the pain in my right shoulder had come back yet again. My cousin suggested seeing Dr. Lim. Fortunately, I was able to set up an appointment on short notice. Within the first 15 minutes or so of conversing, Dr. Lim was able to figure out pretty much my entire medical/health history and proceeded with the treatment accordingly. As soon as he strategically placed several needles in various spots of my body (which by the way, was nowhere near my right shoulder), I was able to experience a much greater range of motion in my arm with minimal pain. The added bonus here was that I found myself in a state of peace and calmness. I feel pretty certain that this has something to do with the holistic nature of acupuncture and the way Dr. Lim approaches his practice. (I would also like to say here that I completely agree with the “Ambience” section of the reviewer Jeanie K….I really appreciated his thoroughness and kindness.) By the next morning, I had full range of motion in my right shoulder and arm with barely any pain.
If I ever make it back to Los Angeles, I plan on setting up more appointments.
